THE PLANET CLASS SYSTEM
The Planet Class System is a system that was designed early in the Union's history to categorize planets based on their composition, size, and society.
There are three categorizes: Habitability, Composition, and Society.
Habitability measures how habitable a planet is based on its composition.
Class A - Habitable
Class B - Habitable, but extra equipent will be needed
Class C - Uninhabitable
Composition is measured by what the planet is made out of. Is it a gas planet? A terra planet? Or is it a moon or planetoid?
Terra A - Rocky planet
Terra B - A planetoid or moon, usually orbiting a gas planet
Mist - A gas planet
And the society class is measured by the society status of a planet. Is there life on the planet? Is it filled with animal and plant life? Or is it filled with space faring sentient life?
Alpha Class - A planet that has a society and involved with the Universal Union.
Alpha 2 Class - A planet with a society, but hasn't perfected space travel, traveled out of their system, or traveled off planet.
Beta Class - A planet with only animals and plant life, no sentient life.
Beta 2 Class - Mostly uninhabited, have some simple microbial life
Gamma Class - Uninhabited with no life. Could be terraformed.
Delta Class - A planet that had a society, but its inhabitants went extinct.
